What this site does and does not collect. Last updated 2026-07-25.
NHL Trade Tree is a fan run reference project. There are no user accounts, no advertising, and no third party analytics or tracking scripts. The site collects only what a plain web server needs to run and to block abuse.
There are none. Every stylesheet, script, font and image this site loads is served from nhltradetree.ca itself, so viewing a page sends your IP address and browser details to this server and nowhere else. That includes the ones a site would normally load from a public CDN. Links to other sites in our attribution notes are ordinary links: nothing is requested from them unless you click.
Like any web server, this site records ordinary request logs: your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, and your browser's user agent string. These logs exist to keep the service running, debug problems, and rate limit abuse. They are not used to build a profile of you and are not shared with anyone.
The site sets a single Flask session cookie, and only when one is needed to carry a temporary message between page loads (for example, to confirm a contact form was received). It holds no personal data, is not an advertising or tracking cookie, and expires when you close your browser. No other cookies are set.
If you use the contact form, the name, email address, and message you enter are stored so we can read and reply to your note, and may be forwarded to the site operator's inbox by email. That information is used only to answer you and is never sold or shared. Do not send sensitive personal information through the form.
Because there are no accounts, the only personal data the site holds about you is what appears in server logs and anything you choose to send through the contact form. To ask that a contact message be deleted, use the form or the same email address it was sent to.
